Whispers

The theme for the cast this year is "whisper" we want those that will come to the show to feel the whisper of the spirit and the message that we are sharing. As I have sat and listened to the music rehearsals each Sunday night I feel those whispers. The message that is conveyed in the words of the opening song say it all "Come Lord Jesus". These words have power and meaning.

Several years ago we decided as parents that we weren't going to have the easter bunny come on Easter morning, because we wanted that day to be a day where we focused solely on his precious gift for us. For that is what it was a gift. He gave us the gift of his life, so that we might return to our Heavenly Father.

For some reason when we talk about his atoning sacrifice and his suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane we only talk about our sins, when that was the very last thing that he suffered for. He first felt all our sickness, our heartaches, our sorrows. When our heart aches he knows those feelings for he felt them, as we mourn our losses he knows those as well. As we struggle with feelings of inadequacy he gets it.

This is what I think of when I think of him and his suffering. He is my Savior not because he suffered for my sins, and yes that is important, but he is my Savior because he knows how I am feeling and can help to lift my burden when needed.

Come Lord Jesus, an invitation to our lives. A whisper across my soul that he gets it, he knows what I am feeling and why.
